I will be resuming the additions to The Earchive starting today.  I was gone for most of a week, attending Destination D: Attraction Rewind, then wanted to spend time with my family for Thanksgiving.  Now, I’m really excited, recharged, and ready to get back to offering you all more pieces of Disney theme park history.

Speaking of history, Destination D: Attraction Rewind was an absolutely amazing experience!  I can’t believe I had the opportunity to personally meet people like Bob Gurr, Marty Sklar and Tony Baxter.  The presentations on the 1964 World’s Fair were really great, but I especially enjoyed the second day, where they talked about attractions at the theme parks, or in the case of Discovery Bay, lands and attractions never built.  Thank you SO much to the D23 staff for putting on such a memorable event!

D23 Destination D: Attraction Rewind

I’ve been eagerly anticipating more information about this upcoming D23 event, and we finally have more details.  The event will run November 22-23 and be held at the Contemporary Resort.

As you can imagine, this is like nirvana for a Disney History nerd like myself.  At the moment they are promoting appearances by Marty Sklar, Bob Gurr and Alice Davis.  They’re also going to be talking about Disney’s participation in the 1964 World’s Fair, appropriate since it is the 50th anniversary this year.

There is not a lot of detail regarding the presentations and especially the schedule yet, but I’m going to keep checking back for more developments.
